WHEN YOU ADOPT A RESCUED DOG, WHO IS CARRYING WHO?
This is Max. Max Rescued Me!
It all began six years ago when my wife and I met Max at a local rescue in my home town. This shy, confused little dachshund mix found himself looking for a new home and we were lucky enough to be chosen to be his new parents. He had very little trust left in him and the thought of trusting a man, was just to scary. Max was very tenuous around me and any new men he met early on were the enemy or to be feared.
I was going through a transition in life at that time. I lost the last of my three dogs and was also experiencing my fathers decline into dementia. Max not liking me, would have been the last straw.
But what this amazing angel did was give me a chance. He decided to trust this flawed man and when we crossed that impasse, our bond became as strong as you can imagine between a dog and a man. To this day and every day, Max & I build our trust with each other. Leading me to ask

For the past year, I have dedicated my time to help a dog rescue through my involvement with Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida to see if we can save another Dog Dad or Dog Mom by finding a rescue dog to carry them.
