RESCUING A DOG From A Shelter vs. Buying a Dog From a Breeder or a Pet Store

Shelter Dogs: Saving Lives and Finding Love
When it comes to adding a new furry friend to your family, the decision between adopting a dog from a shelter or buying one can be a tough one. Each option has its own set of pros and cons, but the choice you make can have a lasting impact on both your life and the life of the dog you bring home. When deciding between adopting a dog and buying a dog, the primary difference is the source of the animal: adopting means getting a dog from a shelter or rescue organization, while buying a dog means purchasing one from a breeder or pet store with the key distinction being that adopting typically provides a second chance to a dog in need, often at a significantly lower cost and potentially with a more established personality, while buying allows for more control over breed and lineage, but could inadvertently support puppy mills if not done carefully with a reputable breeder.
Unless you are going directly to a reputable breeder, I would not buy from a store. Those dogs may come from puppy mills
